Our BMW M3 has finally reached this very important stage in its journey - the installation of the carbon fiber package on which we have been working for the past few months. When the G8X platform was introduced to us for the first time, it was at a time when pretty much the entire world was facing unprecedented covid turmoil. Initially, we focused on the front fascia of this vehicle, and we succeeded in making a brand new three-piece splitter. Based on the very positive feedback we received, we were convinced that the G8X platform called for more products. We needed to introduce something slightly different since the market was already saturated with carbon fiber accessories.

Installation

We design all of our products in a plug-and-play manner. Installation of our parts does not require the modification of the vehicle's body. The only exception is that additional screws are used on all of our splitters to ensure that they meet safety standards and high speeds. All our carbon fiber body inserts use 3M adhesive. We always recommend that you use a professional shop for this procedure, even though our parts are designed to be easily installed. The proper installation of adhesive may appear to be simple, but it actually requires a great deal of experience.

Design

Sterckenn is an OEM+ styling company. We produce accesories that enhance the genuine lines and characteristics of the vehicles. It is always our goal to prevent disturbing the original design of the cars we work on to keep them looking smooth and clean. In order for styling and aero to work together smoothly, they need to be designed appropriately. The M3 package is no different. In order to follow the idea of the factory front fascia, the front splitter is divided into three separate parts.  The original BMW design has an enhanced front lip and gloss black side splitters - these were our starting points.

To enhance the side skirts, we used M3's genuine styling cues rather than presenting another set of side skirts, which are already available on the market. To accomplish this goal, we decided to paint the lower panels in body colour (our first blog post). It was this solution that really made our parts visible right away. At the same time, the car gained very pleasing proportions. Side skirts designed by the BMW were great to start from. M3 has very distinguished and easy to notice form in this section. In order to avoid echoing the shape itself we added a tiny flare at the end, which gave a little dynamism to it. Together with the body color paint around it, carbon fiber structure creates a first-class impression.

For the rear bumper corners, we tried to come up with a unique solution. Our goal was to extend the rear diffuser visually on the sides. Adding two fins to the original bumper shape resulted in a very unique design.  To ensure a cohesive aesthetic, fins have angles that correspond to the rear diffuser
